AUCKLAND, Today: Sherina Florence, an independent ECD and AI-focused Futurist, is a juror for The One Show’s first-ever Creative Use of AI category. To mark the final entry deadline, she’s dropping a hip-hop album.
Built entirely from famous ad taglines, the project highlights the intersection of creativity and AI. The album, Dead Lines, will be released on February 28, 2025, the same day entries close.
What started as a simple AI-powered LinkedIn reminder about The One Show’s deadline quickly turned into something bigger. Florence created a full 13-track album under the name Pencil Pusher, blending advertising nostalgia with AI-driven music production.
The project includes two promo videos. The title-track teaser highlights the final deadline, while Rising Ambition, a two-minute video, celebrates Black culture and The One Show legacy by featuring award-winning ads from past years.
“I thought I’d channel my creativity into something for the culture. I asked myself, what better way to approach assignments during outlawed diversity than by remixing advertising itself—taking taglines we all know and love, and turning them into anthems with AI tools. It became a celebration of both culture and craft.” – Sherina Florence
Each track release builds anticipation for the full album’s Spotify debut on February 28. A preview is available now on HyperFollow, with the full release coming to Spotify, Apple Music, and iTunes.
“I thought I’d channel my creativity into something for the culture,” said Florence. “I asked myself, what better way to approach assignments during outlawed diversity than by remixing advertising itself—taking taglines we all know and love, and turning them into anthems with AI tools. It became a celebration of both culture and craft.”
She added that the project demonstrates how quickly ideas can be brought to life with AI. “This demonstrates the accelerating power of AI for all stages of creative development. I’m honoured to participate in the first AI award jury, and truly grateful to The One Club for Creativity.”
Entries for The One Show 2025 are open now, with a final deadline of February 28. Finalists will be announced in April, with Gold, Silver, Bronze Pencil, and Merit winners revealed during Creative Week 2025, taking place May 12-16 in New York.
Winning agencies, brands, production companies, and individuals are featured in The One Show Creative Rankings. They also contribute to The One Club’s Global Creative Rankings, which factor in wins from The One Show, ADC Annual Awards, Type Directors Club TDC competition, Art Directors Club of Europe (ADCE) Awards, and ONE Asia Creative Awards. Rankings are published globally, regionally, and by country.
