SYDNEY, Today: Wasserman has appointed Peter Jarmain as Vice President to lead Wasserman Live across Australia and APAC, heading up branding, signage, fabrication, live events and experiential operations.
Jarmain brings years of experience from senior roles at the NRL, Foxtel, Football Australia and Alta Global Group, with a strong track record in sponsorship, marketing and global expansion.
The hire is set to boost Wasserman’s presence in the region. The company has operated here since 2006, working across marketing, talent, sales and live events in Australia and New Zealand.
It’s part of a broader push to grow Wasserman’s 360° offering locally, including The Collective—its women-focused global impact business led by Thayer Lavielle, who visited Melbourne last week.
Lavielle spoke at SportNXT and met with industry leaders, continuing her work to drive greater investment into women’s sport and entertainment globally.
Wasserman also activated at the 2025 Australian Grand Prix in Melbourne and is managing the commercial rollout of this year’s British & Irish Lions Tour.
“It’s an honour to become part of a global sport, music and entertainment heavyweight such as Wasserman, and what a time to join the business.” – Peter Jarmain
For the past three years, the team has led strategy, secured global partners, and is now delivering key events and partnerships as the Tour kicks off this June.
Alastair Bewick, Group Managing Director of Wasserman Live said, “As we approach an unforgettable decade of sport in Australia and New Zealand, we are delighted to have brought Peter on board to help capitalise on the opportunity that lies ahead.
“Peter has an in-depth understanding of the region’s sporting landscape and leaning on his expertise, we are looking forward to a period of sustained growth in market for both Wasserman Live and the Wasserman business at large.”
Jarmain said, “It’s an honour to become part of a global sport, music and entertainment heavyweight such as Wasserman, and what a time to join the business. Over the next decade, Australia will be the go-to destination for the world’s most prestigious sporting events, and I am excited to see how we can ensure Wasserman is at the very centre of it all.”
Wasserman’s client list spans brands and rights holders like AIA, Unilever, Football Australia, Golf Australia, NZ Rugby, and Rugby Australia, along with events like Hyrox.
The talent side is just as strong, representing artists like Amy Shark, Lorde, Sia and Dom Dolla, plus athletes including Reece Walsh, Zoi Sadowski-Synnott, Cameron Smith, Michaela Blyde and more.
