NZME’s ANZ Donation Station returns for Daffodil Day

New Zealand Media and Entertainment and ANZ Bank New Zealand are teaming up once again this Daffodil Day for the ANZ Donation Station.

The live broadcast combines music, storytelling and entertainment to raise funds for the Cancer Society and help support the one in three New Zealanders affected by cancer.

Live at NZME’s Auckland HQ, the event will be broadcast on ZM from 7am to 6pm on August 29 and streamed across iHeartRadio, social media, NZ Herald online and amplified across NZME’s wider radio network.

It will feature musicians Guy Sebastian, Cassie Henderson and Paige, actor Michael Galvin, TV personality Jeremy Corbett, along with surprise guest appearances and inspiring personal stories.

Last year’s ANZ Donation Station initiative won Best Client Campaign at the 2025 Radio Awards.

Broad range of activations

This year promises to be even bigger – with a broad series of fundraising activations happening across NZME’s network. These include the Hauraki Ping Pong Champs with The Big Show, The Hits Bake Sale with Matty McLean and Matilda Green, Coast’s celebrity netball game, Flava Breakfast’s Runathon and a Newstalk ZB interview during the day.

NZME chief commercial officer, agency Greg McCrea says: “We’re thrilled to be joining forces once again with our fantastic partner – ANZ in supporting the Cancer Society for this incredibly important campaign. NZME’s platforms play a powerful role in keeping Kiwis in the know and through ANZ Donation Station, we can not only entertain our audiences but drive awareness and inspire generosity.”

ANZ NZ head of sponsorship Sarah Rogan says: “We’re really pleased to have NZME’s support following the huge success of last year’s very first ANZ Donation Station event. One in three New Zealanders will face cancer in their lifetime and ANZ is proud to have supported the Cancer Society for 35 years to support these Kiwis and their families.

“Through this campaign we’re honouring people’s stories, driving donations and helping provide the care and services people living with cancer need to access. Every donation counts so we encourage everyone to show their support.”

NZME’s 1200 strong team across the country will also be getting behind the cause with internal fundraising throughout the day.

To listen on August 29, play ZM or join the livestream. Text DONATE to 3493 to make an instant $ 3 donation to the Cancer Society.
