NZME is proud to renew its partnership with Warbirds Over Wanaka, the renowned airshow that draws around 65,000 visitors to Central Otago every two years.
Two of NZME’s leading platforms, Coast and the NZ Herald, will support this South Island event over Easter weekend 2026.
Warbirds Over Wanaka, twice voted New Zealand’s Favourite Event, showcases modern and historic aircraft against the stunning backdrop of the Southern Alps.
Janine Tindall-Morice, NZME’s southern commercial head, says: “NZME is thrilled to continue our partnership with Warbirds Over Wanaka and support events that bring communities together while celebrating what makes Aotearoa unique. It’s an event that attracts huge audiences while also celebrating history, heritage and community in a uniquely Kiwi setting.”

Experience the unforgettable
Ed Taylor, general manager of Warbirds Over Wanaka, says: “We’re delighted to welcome NZME back on board. Their nationwide reach and audience engagement play a huge role in the success of our event. NZME’s support helps us share this extraordinary experience with aviation fans from New Zealand and around the world.”
NZME says spectators can expect an unforgettable sensory experience, from the thunderous roar of modern fighter jets to the graceful precision of gliders. The show also features dazzling pyrotechnics and world-class ground displays, including The Future of Aviation.
The event will run Friday April 3 to Sunday April 5 2026, with tickets on sale now through Ticketek.
