In a world where nearly everyone is always online, there is no offline.

Pitchblack and Together power Barfoot & Thompson’s new chapter

Barfoot & Thompson, Together and Pitchblack Partners have teamed up to launch Do Big Things.

The new campaign aims to inspire Kiwis to dream bigger with property and to back them every step of the way.

It is brought to life through a film directed by Rhett D’Arrietta and produced by Jetblack. The plot follows Steve, a vendor who, after selling his home, imagines the endless possibilities his next chapter could hold – from lifestyle changes to new adventures.

Show up as a leader

Josh Moore, principal partner at Pitchblack, says Barfoot & Thompson’s team inspired the creative direction.

“In a meeting with Stephen Barfoot and Peter Thompson, we were given a great insight. For most Kiwis, it’s not their bank manager who is entrusted with the biggest financial transaction of their lives, it’s their real estate salesperson. They take on the duty of unlocking the equity that unlocks futures. It’s a responsibility these two leaders take enormously seriously and the very insight that inspired this campaign.”

Catherine Teoh, Barfoot & Thompson’s head of brand, adds: “Do Big Things is a bold platform that celebrates the role property plays in shaping futures for Kiwis. The sale of a home usually marks the start of new chapters, new opportunities, or life-changing moments.

“For more than 100 years, we have been trusted to guide families through those milestones, more than anyone else in Auckland and Northland. Now we’re proud to be extending that impact into Waikato and the Bay of Plenty,” says Teoh.

“This campaign reflects the pride we have in the people who carry our brand into communities every day. At the same time, our refreshed brand design ensures we’re showing up as a progressive leader.

“Working with Pitchblack and Together to bring this to life has been a fantastic and truly collaborative experience.”

A proud legacy

GM of Pitchblack Emma Dalton says: “It was clear from the start of our partnership that Barfoot & Thompson stands for more than a proud legacy.

“They are a modern leader in real estate creating security, prosperity and ultimately freedom. For most New Zealanders, property is the rocket fuel that powers that freedom. Even if the quarter acre dream looks a little different today than it did in the past.

“Bringing this to life was a lot of fun and we hope it will shift perspectives on the role real-estate salespeople play as a partner helping you Do Big Things.”

Together’s client principal Sam Boniface says partnering with Barfoot & Thompson and Pitchblack has been a fantastic journey.”

“We’ve embraced bold, innovative approaches across multiple channels and formats to activate this concept and inspire New Zealanders to think bigger.”

The campaign will roll out across television, cinema, digital platforms, outdoor media, social channels, and in communities across Auckland, Northland and the Bay of Plenty from October 1.
