The Marketing Club launches grassroots festival Marketers Day

The Marketing Club is launching Marketers Day, a grassroots festival built by marketers for marketers.

Marketers Day aims to celebrate the ideas, people and impact that shape Aotearoa’s marketing industry.

The event will take place on October 20 at ASB Bank’s Wynyard Quarter headquarters. It will bring together more than 100 marketers, founders and creatives to share ideas and conversation.

The programme spans creativity, strategy, tech and leadership. It includes speakers who have built brands from scratch, led cultural moments and navigated the messy middle of real-world campaigns, says The Marketing Club.

The line-up

  • Creativity & brand building – Simon Pound (Previously Unavailable), Shyr Godfrey (Forty Thieves), Fiona Cortis (Blunt), Hamish Russell (ASB), Tom Horton (Phantom Billstickers)
  • The future of marketing – Dan Xu PhD (ElementX), Gau Kurman (SupaHuman AI), Michaela Egbers (Ideally), Chanel Clark (The Marketing Club) and Sam Brough (Tracksuit)
  • Real-World Strategy & Execution – Clive Antony (Antony & Mates), Julian Thompson (Mosh), Kamran Kazalbash (One New Zealand), Susie Thomson-Evans (Clear Hayes), Maria Skatova (InternetNZ)

Marketers Day: A celebration

The Marketing Club founder Chanel Clark says: “Marketers Day isn’t another conference, it’s a celebration. We built this to feel different: accessible, energising and useful. It’s not about suits and slides, it’s about real people sharing what they’ve learned, sparking ideas and lifting each other up.

“Attendees will get to hear from some of the most exciting brands and consultancies in Aotearoa and beyond, and absorb insights they can put into practice straight away. That’s what our community has always been about, and now it finally has a day of its own.”

Blunt Umbrella’s head of marketing Fiona Cortis adds: “I’m a creative and a brand builder through and through, it’s what I’m passionate about and I’m excited to share my experience and journey and connect with the up and coming marketeers in NZ.”

One NZ brand lead Kamran Kazalbash says: “I’m really excited to see everyone at the first Marketers Day and to share the story and the strategy behind our Finding Jade campaign. I’ll share how we got to where we are now and how we ensure that our brand strategy comes to life in everything we do.”
