Political and investigative journalist Rebecca Wright is joining Stuff Digital‘s political team this election year.
Wright, formerly host of The Nation and TVNZ’s US correspondent for three years, will work alongside Jenna Lynch, Lloyd Burr, Zane Small and Glen McConnell, reporting across stuff.co.nz and ThreeNews for Sky TV.
A world-class act
Stuff Digital editor-in-chief Keith Lynch says Wright is a world-class broadcaster and interviewer whose incisive political analysis and coverage of the 2023 New Zealand election was a deciding factor in her appointment.
“Rebecca is a class act with broad experience as an anchor, debate moderator, interviewer and breaking news journalist.
“She has covered five New Zealand general elections, Trump’s first term and interviewed world leaders including Joe Biden. We are excited to have her on the team as ThreeNews and Stuff gear up for a critical year for New Zealanders,” Lynch adds.
Ready to get stuck in
Wright says she has followed Stuff Group’s development over the past five years, and its focus on independent journalism was a major drawcard.
“Kiwis expect sharp questions, strong reporting and analysis that cracks open the issues they care about. I’m ready to get stuck in with the talented team at Stuff Digital in a year that really matters for the country.”
Wright will begin in the Stuff Digital newsroom in February.
