Phantom Billstickers launches ‘Support ya local’

Phantom Billstickers has launched Support ya local, a street poster campaign supporting independent stores, cafés, retailers and businesses across Aotearoa.

The campaign is intentionally simple: no calls to action, no hard sell. Just a reminder, placed where people already are, to keep backing the local operators who give our cities their energy and character.

Posters have always been about the local

Support ya local is a gentle nudge to local communities to notice what’s around them, and to keep choosing the places that make their streets feel alive, says Phantom Billstickers.

“Street posters have always been about the local,” says marketing manager Tom Horton.

“They live in the same places as the businesses they’re supporting. This campaign isn’t trying to convince anyone of anything. It’s just about showing a bit of love to the people quietly doing great work, day in, day out.

”Street media has long played a role in reflecting local culture, operating outside algorithms and attention economies,” Horton adds.

“By keeping the campaign small and grounded, Phantom aims to let the message feel natural, embedded in the environments it speaks to.”
