AUCKLAND, Today: Unicef Aotearoa has appointed three NZ agencies – social media specialist Socialites, design shop IDIA and creative agency Federation – to work collaboratively with Unicef to implement their bicultural branding, digital community and marketing strategy.
This appears to be a new appointment – but at press time, it was not clear if there was a pitch.
Auckland-based board member Carmen Vicelich said (in a press statement): “We recognise the need to be digitally connected and to build awareness of the incredible work Unicef is doing both globally and locally.
“This is an important step towards delivering this and enabling us to help as many children as possible with the greatest impact.
“We were impressed with the calibre of marketing talent to present our updated voice to NZ as we work on our critical mission.”
“The integration of the Tiriti o Waitangi [Treaty of Waitangi] goals into Unicef’s five-year strategy to support every child, starting at home and expanding to the Pacific and the world, has provided an authentic opportunity to relook at how our brand reflects our commitment to Te Tiriti and achieves the ambitious measurements outlined in the strategy.
“Unicef is focused on ensuring our communications and brand marketing is more strategic, more integrated and more effective in inspiring people to donate, with the mix of agencies providing an excellent combination of the right expertise.
Unicef’s San Francisco-based chair Linda Jenkinson said: “We were very impressed with the calibre of marketing talent and really look forward to presenting our updated voice to New Zealand as we work on our critical mission.”
