In a world where nearly everyone is always online, there is no offline.

Big screen spend on the rise

Standard Media Index (SMI) results from April show Val Morgan Cinema Advertising achieving a 132.1 percent spend increase on the same period last year.

Sales Director of Val Morgan Cinema New Zealand, Matt Tremain, says: “Cinema is well and truly heating up, the release slate is packed with the world’s best showstopping, blockbuster content. Audiences have flocked back with brands taking advantage of the attention the big-screen commands. There has never been a better time to leverage the power of cinema for your brand.”

The growth he says has been fuelled by the Easter school holiday period featuring a line-up of blockbuster movies including Godzilla vs. Kong, Mortal Kombat and the homegrown Kiwi favourite, Cousins.

“Cinema delivers high-value audiences with scale. Audiences are primed to pay attention with the unequalled impact of the biggest screen of all. They have little or no distractions and the planned social viewing environment delivers positive mindsets.”

Movie titles dropping in the next few weeks such as Fast & Furious 9, Black Widow and Space Jam: A New Legacy are all expected to fuel this continued growth.
