Wabi Sabi expands into the South Island

As Auckland continues to grapple with the uncertainty of Covid-19 alert levels, Wabi Sabi Media Group has made the decision to open a South Island office.

Founder Dan Higgins is a Canterbury boy and is excited about the opportunity to film more in Canterbury & the wider South Island.

“Auckland’s lockdown has resulted in four jobs being unable to shoot – including two international productions that were lined up to film here.  Christchurch and Queenstown are film-ready locations with great crew, so it seems like a no brainer to help NZ-based agencies offer clients an alternative filming option, away from the concentration of MIQ facilities in Auckland,” he says.

Wabi Sabi has been working with local suppliers, and now boats several HODs who are based in the South Island. The team will be headed up by Amanda Jenkins with production offices in Christchurch and Queenstown.

“Dan and I have worked with each other over the years & I was excited to hear Wabi Sabi was establishing a footprint here in the South Island. We have an amazing depth of talent, crew & locations – and along with our film friendly councils – there has never been a better time to film in the regions,” says Amanda.
