Waka Kotahi joins as a partner on the Locky Dock Network

Waka Kotahi NZ Transport Agency is the latest Locky Dock Network partner, joining well known New Zealand brands Mercury and Southern Cross.

Locky Dock Network partners get a dedicated advertising slot across the current live Locky Dock digital media network run by Kiwi company Big Street Bikers.

Waka Kotahi Marketing Manager Amanda Duncan says: “We’re excited to start using Locky Docks as a channel to promote our Road to Zero, sustainability and active mode messages.

“Improving road safety makes our towns and cities more accessible, connected and liveable—ensuring people feel safe to walk or cycle. These modes of travel also deliver direct health, environment, and safety benefits.

“Our partnership with Big Street Bikers provides the opportunity to encourage people to walk and cycle and promote the many benefits these transport modes bring.”

Waka Kotahi, Big Street Bikers and local councils have previously worked together to provide bike-path wayfinding maps on Locky Dock digital screens to help people get to where they want to go safely.

These have already increased awareness of safe bike routes in Auckland, Wellington and Christchurch – and supported a growth of carbon-free transport across the country.

Big Street Bikers and Waka Kotahi are also working together to determine the best locations for the expansion of Locky Docks in key public destinations in main cities and regional centres across the motu.

“Locky Docks are attracting purpose driven advertisers such as Mercury, Southern Cross and Sharesies. It’s a new digital street media proposition that answers the need for climate action from the advertising sector, they are located at destinations with high dwell time, and provide an important public amenity,” says Cleve Cameron, Co-founder and Director of Big Street Bikers.

The Locky Dock Network currently has 30 sites across Auckland, Wellington and Christchurch.
