BUSAN, SOUTH KOREA, Wednesday: The Ad Stars Awards has rebranded itself as MAD Stars, echoing the moniker of M+AD Daily NZ.
MAD Stars is an anagram of Marketing, Advertising and Digital. The NZ news service is of course, stands for Media & Advertising.
MAD Stars awards manager Paul Conversy said: “It’s an exciting new name because it reflects the more multidisciplinary approach the industry is taking.

“With advertisers already embracing marketing and digital solutions, it’s only natural that our creativity awards show should reflect that change in its name.”
The next MAD Stars Awards show will be held simultaneously offline in Busan, and online on the MAD Stars website. The event will take place for three days from August 25-27.
The theme of this year’s festival is ‘MAD (“Find extraordinary ideas to change the world”).
