AUCKLAND, Today: Kiwi comedian and TV personality Te Radar has taken drastic action to reverse the effects of climate change in the Pacific by attempting to #SueTheSea.
Unfortunately his surprising approach has had completely unsurprising results – failing to get the ocean – and the New Zealand court system – to take any notice whatsover of his legal intervention.
Te Radar’s futile attempt to #SueTheSea for the effect it’s causing as a result of climate change was the brainchild of Federation:Impact, the climate and sustainability consulting arm of Federation, and is the agency’s first campaign for client partner the Sustainable Business Network.
Federation managing partner Olly Walker-Boden said: “The campaign demonstrates how we need to stop holding others accountable for climate change and instead own what we can be doing ourselves.
“The work is part of the bigger picture when it comes to getting messages about sustainability out into the world, and Sustainable Business Network’s support of organisations that want to start their own journey to adopting more sustainable practices.
“The film is a bit of fun – but has a serious outtake.”
“We’re proud to be getting positive, disruptive messaging out about sustainability that engages SBN with their key audience; businesses throughout Aotearoa New Zealand striving to do better for the planet.
“The film is a bit of fun – but has a serious outtake and hopefully encourages conversation around what could be done to drive change, big and small.
Award winner
“Federation and the SBN’s wider partnership also saw the agency sponsor and present the Communicating for Impact Award at this year’s Sustainable Business Awards. The award was won out by green energy company Ecotricity.
Federation ceo/founder Sharon Henderson said: “It is crucial that we keep finding new ways to engage business in the conversation around sustainability:
“Te Radar with his #SueTheSea campaign and everyone involved with the Sustainable Business Network are all doing an amazing job of shining a spotlight on the businesses that are making a real committment to sustainabily.
“Our goal as a partner is to simply help them take this message even further.”
