New Zealand-founded retail crime reporting platform Auror has appointed communications agency Sling & Stone across Australia and New Zealand.
The partnership will see Sling & Stone continue to build on Auror’s trusted brand, focusing awareness across the retail sector as well as law enforcement and government stakeholders across both countries. This will be achieved with a mix of strategic media relations, data storytelling, founder profiling and employer brand work.
With more than $ 150 billion lost every year to retail crime, Auror was developed as a way to equip retailers with safe and secure solutions to report, solve, and stop crime occurring in stores, and create safer communities.
Before Auror, there was no effective technology for retailers to report crime following an event like shoplifting, theft or violent behaviours.
The privacy-first platform was designed to be the solution, enabling retailers to have visibility of offending across their entire store network safely and securely. They can also make reports directly via Auror to the police — removing the time-consuming process of physically reporting at the police station — and allowing law enforcement to effectively and efficiently follow up or investigate the matter.
Today, over 85 per cent of leading Kiwi retailers use Auror including Woolworths (Countdown), The Warehouse Group and Briscoe Group. The platform operates in New Zealand, Australia, USA, UK, and Canada with some of the world’s biggest and best retailers.
Vanessa Wills, Director Strategic Comms and Engagement, Auror said: “Sling & Stone has become a true extension of our team from day one. Beyond their PR and communications expertise, the team has seamlessly slotted in as our trusted strategic partner, invested in our success just like us.
“Their remarkable ability to delve into the heart of our business, coupled with strong alignment with our innovative and ambitious values, meant it was a sure-fire decision to join forces with Sling & Stone.”
Sian Church, Head of New Zealand, Sling & Stone said: “At Sling & Stone, our DNA is deeply rooted in telling stories for innovative brands that challenge the status quo. Auror fit that bill to a tee — solving a major global problem that impacts everyone in one shape or another.
“With Auror scaling rapidly into global markets, we’re pumped to be telling their story back home and proving that anything is achievable from New Zealand. It’s a delight to welcome Auror into our portfolio of ambitious brands shaping the future of how we live, work and play. We can’t wait to get stuck in and showcase all the epic work Auror is doing with retailers and police to tackle organised retail crime and create safer communities.”
