WELLINGTON, Wednesday: Te Aro-based creative agency Wrestler has appointed Claire Beesley as its general manager, returning to NZ after eight years at Wieden+Kennedy Amsterdam.
As W+K coms director, Beesley worked across the agency’s global client portfolio which includes Nike, Instagram, Facebook and Corona.
Wrestler ceo Ben Forman said: “In addition to leading communications & PR strategy for all W+K client and creative output, Beesley also led the agency’s marketing and worked with company leaders to develop and lead internal culture and diversity, equity & inclusion strategies.
“It is this dual experience of working with some of the world’s biggest brands coupled with agency marketing and culture expertise, which led Wrestler to lure her back to Aotearoa.
“I am looking forward to getting reacquainted with my roots.”
“Over the past few years, Wrestler has evolved from its production origins into a full-service creative agency so having someone of Claire’s calibre and global outlook joining the team will be invaluable in continuing to move Wrestler forward into world domination, which is what every agency aims for – right?”
Beesley said: “I’m thrilled to be back in Aotearoa and to join the Wrestler whanau.
“The country and creative industry have changed considerably since I left over a decade ago so I am looking forward to getting reacquainted with my roots and not only bringing my international experience home, but to an agency that is truly values led and focused on harnessing the power of creativity for good.”
Recent Wrestler work includes environment-friendly All Birds woollen footware, the Green Party, NZ Police and Wellington Paranormal.
