It’s been a tough year for New Zealanders young and old, so, to lift spirits and share the love, creative agency Pitchblack and Air New Zealand have joined forces to bring the magic of Christmas to Kiwi kids.
Shot in Tauranga with real families, the ‘Twas the Flight before Christmas’ activation saw Santa inviting kids to have a go on the Sleigh 320, a souped-up Air New Zealand ride-on plane.
Pitchblack Creative Partner Kate Lill says: “It’s been a crazy year, so when we found a dusty old Air New Zealand ride-on plane in the back of the hangar, we were inspired to lift spirits this Christmas by upcycling it into a magical ride for Kiwi kids.”
Those who took a ride were asked who and where they’d like to visit this Christmas – and their wishes were granted by Air New Zealand flight attendants who appeared from behind the scenes with return flights.
The entire activation was captured by hidden, and not-so-hidden cameras, and the footage cut together into a heart-warming piece of content that will feature on social channels, YouTube and in-flight – just in time for the festive season.
