Digipost owner murdered?

AUCKLAND, Today: A 55-year-old woman, who police believe may have been the victim of a homicide, was the owner and sole shareholder of Digipost, a one-time pillar of TV post in NZ.

Elizabeth (Ying) Zhong, aged 55, was reported missing from her Pakuranga home on Saturday morning and her body was eventually found in the boot of her car, 500m from her home.

Zhong, who has health issues, was also the sole owner and director of two wine-making companies that are now in receivership – Kennedy Point Vineyard on Waiheke Island and Carrick Wines in Central Otago.

“Digipost is still a going concern – but little post work is reported these days (nothing in M+AD credits lists for several years).”

Digipost was established by Garry Little in 1990 – but business eventually slowed, and Little closed the doors in 2013, reluctantly letting go his highly qualified staff of 28, and putting the Owens Rd, Epsom, business “on hold” indefinitely

Zhong moved here from China in 1997 – but how and when she became involved in Digipost was unknown at press time.

Digipost seems to still be a going concern – their website is current, but little post work is being reported these days (nothing in M+AD credits lists for several years).

Productions worked at Digipost include tvcs for many creative agencies. The company also post-produced Mosely, Ash versus Evil Dad, Mt Zion, Spartacus, Love Birds and 30 Days of Night.

The future of the facility remains unclear.
