AUCKLAND, Today: Kiwi creative legend James Mok has been appointed ECD at BBDO’s NZ retail agency 99, effectively returning to his strongest suit – a senior creative role.
Mok, currently MD at WPP AUNZ’s VMLY&R (see accompanying story), will begin in the New Year.
99 has yet to confirm the appointment – but M+AD’s information is reliable.

We emailed 99 MD Troy Fuller last evening – but a press time this morning, he had yet to respond (we’re expecting the media release any time soon).
We also asked him to detail any other creative changes at the agency – again, no response. The 99 website (a nightmare to navigate) provided no clues, either.
Mok – always the gentleman – did respond (immediately): “I can’t confirm my next role at this stage. Will let you know as soon as I can.”
