MediaWorks has announced the appointment of Rachel Callaghan as the company’s General Counsel.
Callaghan, who has recently returned to New Zealand from London where she was Associate General Counsel and Board Director at Centrica Hive, more than 15 years’ private practice experience in the UK, Australia and New Zealand.
Prior to her time at Centrica Hive, Callaghan held a number of senior in-house legal roles in London including Head of Legal at British Gas and International Counsel for GMR Infrastructure.
“It’s fantastic to have Rachel bring her extensive legal experience to MediaWorks. Rachel has a strong background and proven success in providing legal expertise that will be instrumental to MediaWorks as it continues its growth trajectory. We are extremely lucky to be the beneficiary of another New Zealander returning home – I know she will be a valuable addition to the MediaWorks leadership team,” says MediaWorks CEO Cam Wallace.
On joining MediaWorks, Rachel Callaghan says: “It’s been fantastic to return to New Zealand where I started my legal career and I’m really excited about joining the team at MediaWorks. It’s a business which is growing and developing and it’s a privilege to be a part of that.”
Callaghan will join the MediaWorks team on 1 March.
