LONDON, Friday: DDB won NZ’s only Yellow Pencil at D&AD 2021 (for the NZ AIDS Foundation The Baby That Changed HIV). The agency also scored three Wood Pencils, two for McDonald’s Reflections and one for Emerson’s Tiny Pub.

Clemenger BBDO Wellington secured two Graphite Pencils and three Wood Pencils. The agency’s The Unsaid campaign for Waka Kotahi NZ Transport Agency picked up a Graphite and a Wood; its NZ Government Unite Against Covid-19 campaign for New Zealand Government scored a Graphite and a Wood, and its NZ Human Rights Commission Voice of Racism campaign won a Wood Pencil.

Saatchi & Saatchi NZ scored two Woods Pencils for Global Women A Career-Limiting Campaign, and Special Group NZ won Wood for Meddle in the Election.

The Side Hustle category reflects the increasing number of creatives applying their skills and personal passions to side projects, something that has become even more apparent during the pandemic. From creating new businesses to developing initiatives to address social and environmental issues, this category aims to spotlight world class creativity beyond people’s day jobs.
