NEW YORK, Friday: GroupM, WPP’s media investment group, has names Marie-Claire Barker as global chief people officer, effective January. She succeeds Jennifer Remling, who was appointed WPP’s chief people officer only in October.
As a member of GroupM’s global leadership team, Barker will lead the group’s people solutions operation across its 36,000-person organisation.
“She will be based in GroupM’s 3 World Trade Centre office in New York.”
Sydney-based GroupM AUNZ comms director Rosie Baker said Barker “will further develop our world-leading people proposition for all our people in Australia & New Zealand.”
Barker is ex-Ogilvy, MEC/Wavemaker and, most recently, Edelman.
She will be based in GroupM’s 3 World Trade Centre office in New York.
