Rob Ruha’s catchy waiata, created for Z’s ‘Moving with the Times’ brand platform from Saatchi & Saatchi, has made it to number one on the New Zealand Music Charts.
The bilingual song, written to capture the spirit of road trips and optimism for the future, has hit number on Hot NZ Singles on Waiata Matua O Aotearoa, the New Zealand Music Charts.
Gisborne musician, Rob Ruha, says he was inspired to write “Where I’ll Be” by the kaupapa, spirit and progressive intention of the project.
Steve Cochran, Saatchi & Saatchi CCO, said the team felt like they were listening to a hit song the first time they heard it.
“So of course, we’re stoked to see that coming to fruition. And we’re certainly delighted for Rob and his crew. It’s hugely satisfying to see their passion and mahi paying off.”
The waiata can be heard accompanying Z advertising on TV, VOD and on radio, however since its release two weeks ago as a full-length song via IndiNation and Universal Music, “Where I’ll Be” has also become a feature on radio programmed playlists, sitting at the top of the Hot NZ Single list for the last two weeks.
