Stuff’s Auckland community newspapers get a makeover

AUCKLAND, Today: Stuff has freshened up its Auckland community newspapers with more local content and a new masthead design. Communities publisher David Gadd says the new masthead is bold and bright.

“The new masthead draws on Stuff’s new brand colours, with a stronger connection to Stuff and Neighbourly. For the first time the mastheads will also feature a te reo Māori title, bringing the Auckland community papers in line with Stuff’s approach for daily papers.”

“We’re putting a strong focus on communities and including more local columns and stories about how to make the most of living in Auckland,”

“The te reo Māori titles are not a direct translation of the newspaper title. Rather, they have been carefully considered and crafted by Stuff’s Kaihautū Reo Māori Taurapa and myself to represent te ao Māori and in respect of mana whenua, the many iwi who whakapapa to and uphold the mana of the land.”

“Each title takes inspiration from the people, stories and areas of Tāmaki Makaurau; central, north, south, east and west.”

Alongside the new-look mastheads, the papers’ content has had a refresh.

“We’re putting a strong focus on communities and including more local columns and stories about how to make the most of living in Auckland,” said Gadd.

“We’ll also highlight how readers can tap into the best that Stuff has to offer – from email newsletters to podcasts and video documentaries.

“We will continue to share our touchstone content – the puzzles page, our What’s On listings to find local clubs, groups, events and entertainment, as well as gardening tips and Nadia Lim’s handy recipes.”

Stuff’s Auckland community newspapers are delivered free to selected letterboxes across Auckland. They’re also available at stores across the region, and the digital editions can be read on the Neighbourly website.
