Beyond Studio, a premier Virtual Worlds Venture Studio, has welcomed four new members to the team across creative, development, and marketing.
Following on from their early successes, founders Jessica and Anton are pushing the boundaries of what’s possible in the world of VR and mobile entertainment and continue to build a team of the best creative and technical talent.
Jerónimo Barraco has come on board as Senior Developer and Game Engineer. He is a Game Architect, Engineer, Teacher, Agile Project Manager and Hacker with 20 years of experience in gaming and immersive technology. He has joined @Tristan and the Beyond dev team to develop current and upcoming virtual reality titles, including the Burrows for Fluf World, multiplayer VR game Combonauts, and the Chibiverse.
Phil Maskell joins as Head of Strategy. As a creative specialist in the blockchain space, Maskell is working alongside the leadership team to define Beyond’s strategy for future creative and business endeavours.
Maskell has worked in gaming for almost 25 years. Starting out in 1998 with Bullfrog Productions on the cult hit Dungeon Keeper. He has since tested, produced and designed interactive content for various audiences and platforms, including Harry Potter, Battlefield 1942, the Buzz! quiz series, My Little Pony mobile and the award-winning AR project, Dr. Grordbort’s Invaders.
Amy Minty has joined Beyond as Head of Marketing to lead the newly-established marketing team and develop Beyond’s growing reputation as a leading virtual worlds venture studio. She brings over 15 years of experience in the technology and entertainment industry. Before joining Beyond, Minty worked as the Senior Marketing Manager at one of the world’s premier visual effects studios, Wétā FX.
With over 18 years of experience in design and advertising, Sarah Shirtcliffe has been hired as Content and Community Manager. Shirtcliffe has recently turned her hand to social media, becoming a content strategist and creator with a passion for purpose- led brands and early-stage enterprises. She has joined the Beyond marketing team to lead the growth and relationship management of the Beyond community across social platforms.
Besides working at Beyond, Shirtcliffe is responsible for the content strategy at Wild Clean — a New Zealand-based start-up and the world’s first certified, plastic-negative cleaning company.
