Special Wellington wins Otago University pitch

WELLINGTON, Thursday: Following a competitive pitch process, the University of Otago has appointed Special Wellington to their agency roster.

The appointment comes at a time of rapid change for the education sector as it emerges from the challenges and disruption of the pandemic. Special Wellington will partner with Aotearoa New Zealand’s first university as it embarks on an exciting new era alongside brand partner Designworks and media agency Mindshare.

Special Wellington will bring award winning creativity and a Te Ao Māori approach to creative and strategic campaign work including brand and student recruitment projects.

“We look forward to collaborating with the Otago team, Designworks and Mindshare.”

University of Otago marketing manager Shelley Winsor said: “Special really stood out right throughout the pitch process, demonstrating not only their alignment and understanding of our ambition and values but provided a fresh perspective on our next generation of learners who are not only diverse but are experiencing the most disruptive time in history.”

“The whole team are looking forward to what we’ll create together.”

Special Wellington GM Phil Baker said: “We are thrilled to be working with the team at the University of Otago on their ambitious plans for the brand in the next few years.

“There is a range of exciting projects that we’re already getting started on and look forward to collaborating with the Otago team and partners at Designworks and Mindshare.”
