Tickets on sale for 2023 AXIS Awards and AXIS Speaks

Tickets are now on sale for the 43rd annual AXIS Awards and the associated speaker event AXIS Speaks which returns after a four year hiatus.

The events will be held on Thursday, March 30, 2023 at Shed10 in Auckland. The early bird deadline for entries passed last Wednesday, and the final deadline is Wednesday, February 8, 2023.

The Comms Council Head of Comms and Events, James Wotton says there has already been a large number of entries submitted.

“It’s great to see so many agencies taking advantage of the early bird pricing – if we receive too many more before next week, we will likely be looking at our largest AXIS yet.”

This year the Comms Council aims to raise the profile of AXIS Speaks and reacher a wider audience. In addition to the advertising industry, AXIS Speaks also targets clients, CEOs, CFOs, and other business community members. There will be four world class creatives taking to the stage at this year’s AXIS Speaks to inspire the New Zealand creative advertising community.

The first speaker being announced from the AXIS Speaks lineup for 2023 is Susan Credle, Global Chair & Global Chief Creative Officer of FCB. Susan Credle is a creative powerhouse with a strong moral compass that drives her quest to infuse the industry with diversity. As the first female chair of The One Club for Creativity, Credle champions creative talent and promotes diversity within the industry.

The second speaker is Rydr Tracy, Head of Educational Transformation at Creatable. Tracy is an education executive, previously working in a number of senior roles across the NSW Department of Education. As the Head of Educational Transformation, he is expanding the evidence base for educators by strengthening the connections between industry and schools. In his role at Creatable, Tracy draws on his expertise and experience to design transformational education resources and applied professional learning programs. These resources help teachers equip students for the challenges humanity will face in the future both in the western and developing world.

Creative superstar, Nils Leonard of Uncommon London joins the lineup as speaker number three. Leonard has spent over 20 years in the advertising and design industries working at a number of the most recognised agencies in London. In 2017, he founded the Uncommon Creative Studio alongside Lucy Jameson and Natalie Graeme, which aims to be “a creative studio building brands the real world is happy exists”. The studio is currently working with ITV, Google, WWF, and Ovo Energy and launching its own brands.

The final speaker at the event is New Zealand Director Ray Edwards.

Simon Lendrum, Comms Council CEO says: “Our intention is to see our creative advertising community take a day to celebrate the success of our best campaigns from the past 12 months, hear from some truly world-class thought leaders around creativity, and be inspired for the year ahead.”

The AXIS Award winners will be revealed at the AXIS Awards Show to be held later that evening. Tickets are now on sale for both AXIS Speaks and the AXIS Awards via the Comms Council website: commscouncil.nz/AXIS
