Sandpiper launches pro-bono communications training programme

Sandpiper, a strategic communications and public affairs consultancy headquartered in Asia Pacific and operating globally, has announced the launch of its pro-bono Voice Your Vision communications training programme for representatives of Non-Governmental (NGO) and other Not-for-Profit (NFP) organisations in New Zealand.

Voice Your Vision offers free professional communications training and advice from Sandpiper’s senior consultants, through two half-day workshops in Auckland on 25 July and Wellington on 7 November.

Sandpiper CEO Emma Smith says that the programme is launching at a time when New Zealand charities and NFPs are being inundated with calls for help because of the surge in the cost of living, made worse by adverse weather events.

“Sandpiper is proud to launch Voice your Vision to support the NGO and NFP sectors at a time when these groups are experiencing increased demand and reduced funding. We know that advocates of important causes are struggling to have their messages heard, and we hope that through Voice Your Vision we can support these sectors to successfully engage their audiences.”

During the workshops, participants will receive media training and gain an understanding of what a strategic communications strategy looks like. This will enable their organisation to refine its key messages and maximise impact with all stakeholders.

The New Zealand training is part of a series of 16 workshops that Sandpiper is offering around the Asia Pacific region, including in Australia, China, Hong Kong SAR, Indonesia, Malaysia, the Philippines, Singapore, and Thailand, with spaces available for over 500 participants in total.
