AUCKLAND, Today: Creative agency Special Design has appointed Clem Devine as its new design director after “an impressive” tenure at Jasmax.
Special Design co-founder/ECD Heath Lowe said: “Clem has a diverse background in brand design, spatial design and strategic leadership, and brings a wealth of experience and a fresh perspective to the agency, which this year celebrates 15 years of exceptional creativity, innovation, and client partnerships.
“At Jasmax he co-founded the brand-design discipline. A prominent figure in the design industry, Clem’s work over the past 20 years has been widely recognised, including accolades from the Designers Institute NZ and Best Design Awards.
“Notably, he played a pivotal role in the Auckland Art Gallery Toi o Tāmaki and Studio One – Toi Tū projects while at Alt Group.
“His thoughtful, considered work across brand, spatial & experience design will be a great fit for our future-focused design clients.”
Devine said: “Becoming part of this award-winning multi-disciplinary creative agency, which I’ve admired for years, is a dream come true.
“The ambition at Special to fuel creativity across a range of mediums is inspiring.”
Heath Lowe:“We couldn’t be happier to welcome Clem to our team – we’ve been wanting to work together for years. It’s an exciting time to be combining our strengths with the talented Special team to bring rich ideas to life for our brand partners”.
“In today’s economic climate, it’s never been more important for brands to stand out and to stand for something.
“In welcoming Clem, we are investing in the type of design thinking that continues to push the boundaries of category and convention. His thoughtful, considered way of working across brand, spatial and experience design will be a great fit for our future-focused design clients.”
Based in the Auckland office, Devine has joined Special Design with immediate effect.
