Coca-Cola launches FIFA Women’s World Cup campaign in NZ

AUCKLAND, Today: Coca-Cola AUNZ has unveiled its FIFA Women’s World Cup 2023 campaign Believing is Magic. The AU-created campaign aims to uplift and refresh the shared experience of the FIFA World Cup, “creating excitement for football fans around the world”.

The campaign came to life through the collaboration of Coca-Cola International’s dedicated in-house marketing and creative teams, and agency partners Mercado McCann and WPP.

The FIFA Women’s World Cup 2023 takes place in Australia and New Zealand from tomorrow (Thursday 20 July) to 20 August.

FIFA Women’s World Cup is said to be the biggest female sporting event in the world. The 2023 tournament will see 32 teams compete to the delight of an estimated two billion people following the tournament around the world.

To celebrate this historic event, Coca-Cola presents a series of consumer experiences:

The hero film (that’s it, above) is set to air in New Zealand from this Wednesday (19 July) and in Australia from 20 July and is now available on YouTube (scroll down for the link).

Coca-Cola Australia marketing director Kate Miller said: “It showcases fans from around the world coming together to watch the games and cheer for their heroes while enjoying an ice-cold bottle of Coke.


“The ad highlights Coke’s ability to bring fans and players closer by tapping into the magic that inspired their heroes to reach the world stage.”

“Inspiring stories of Team Coke players including Australia’s Ellie Carpenter and New Zealand’s Katie Bowen, who have defied the odds and broken through barriers to achieve greatness in sport will be shared across Coca-Cola’s social channels.

“Football fans will enjoy on-ground activations at the stadiums, including Stadium Australia (Sydney), Brisbane Rectangular Stadium and Eden Park (Auckland).

“Fans can immerse themselves in the magic by visiting the Coca-Cola experience tunnel and then capture the excitement with a unique photo opportunity.

“Fans can visit the Coca-Cola recycling stand and selfie-photo wall to capture moments of celebration and magic at the Fan Zones at Tumbalong Park (Sydney), Federation Square (Melbourne) and The Cloud (Auckland).

“Coca-Cola is providing 500 waste and recycling bins across the stadiums and fan zones.

“This is more than just a football tournament – it is a celebration of positive change in society and a testament to the unwavering spirit of believing in magic.

“We want everyone to embrace the power of optimism, see what happens when you believe in magic and be part of this incredible journey at the 2023 FIFA Women’s World Cup.”
