TikTok, the widely recognised entertainment platform, is strategically collaborating with Media Design School, a leading creative and digital technology education provider based in Auckland.
This collaboration marks a step forward in the creative advertising education space, as both industry leaders join forces to empower students with insights into the world of short-form advertising.
Recognising the growing significance of TikTok as a dynamic platform within modern media strategies, Media Design School’s Creative Advertising course has been infused with a two-week immersive teaching module dedicated to harnessing the creative potential of TikTok for advertising purposes.
With a commitment to fostering the next generation of creative talent in New Zealand, TikTok views this partnership as a pivotal step toward nurturing innovative thinking and expertise within an industry that thrives on ingenuity.
Carsten Grueber, Country Manager, TikTok New Zealand says: “Empowering students with an understanding of emerging media channels is pivotal in today’s rapidly evolving creative landscape. We are excited to be a part of Media Design School’s commitment to arming students with the knowledge and skills they need to make an impact from day one, and to be a driving force behind the continuous innovation that defines our industry.”
The dynamic nature of the media landscape requires new creatives to step into roles equipped not only with theoretical knowledge but also with hands-on experience in delivering impactful content through emerging channels.
Over the duration of the course, students were guided by experienced industry leaders, including TikTok Creative Agency Partner Nick O’Donnell and Head of Brand & Creative, Anthony Dever. The support extended beyond the boundaries of the classroom, with industry social experts Sam Snowden and Holly Shin from DDB Group lending their valuable insights to enrich the learning experience.
Andy Blood, Industry Fellow, Media Design School/Torrens University adds: “Our students are the luckiest in the world right now. They were the first on the planet to receive such an incredible workshop experience from a global creative platform. Not only does it make them immediately more employable, our creative industry gets a shot in the arm too, because everything that was downloaded to their brains will trickle up through the agencies that will hire them. Many thanks to Carsten, Nick, and Anthony, for their invaluable commitment to the next generation of creatives.”
