With an average audience of 483,400 viewers (AP 5+)* recorded on the night, Kiwis were glued to their screens watching 1News team right up until midnight.
1News Your Vote 2023 Election Night was New Zealand’s highest reaching and highest rating TV programme on Saturday evening (Oct 14) in both key commercial demographics and total audience.
An additional 138,246 accounts were reached on TVNZ+ with those livestreaming the broadcast, generating 268,378 streams**, helping the platform deliver its single biggest day in its history.
1News Your Vote 2023 Election Night was fronted in studio by John Campbell, Jessica Mutch McKay and Jack Tame. A highly experienced 1News Election team led by Deputy Political Editor Maiki Sherman crossed live from party bases around the motu.
