oOh!media NZ boosts Kiwi commuters with International Women’s Day inspiration

AUCKLAND, Yesterday: To celebrate International Women’s Day, oOh!media New Zealand is offering its network for free advertising to women-owned and led businesses across Aotearoa, showcasing their achievements.

Over 600 oOh!media screens will feature local, women-led businesses such as Emma Lewisham and Lamplight Books. This initiative honours women’s economic, cultural, and social achievements.

International Women’s Day acts as a reminder of the strides towards gender equality. This year’s theme, “#InspireInclusion,” celebrates the diverse contributions of women globally.

Kelly Harvey, from oOh!media, highlights the campaign’s role in empowering female entrepreneurs. “What better way to inspire others than to champion those who are already making significant waves? As NZ’s largest Out of Home network we have an important platform, and this opportunity allows us to not only empower women-led businesses but inspire commuters.”

Victoria Harris of The Curve praises the campaign for amplifying women’s achievements. “We are so excited to see a company the size of oOh! empower women in business on a national level. This is an awesome opportunity for us to shine light on our wāhine and all the hard work we all do. The Curve was inspired by the powerful women we were raised by, and we hope to do the same and remind women that they can do anything they set their minds to.”

Grace Ko and Emily Janus of Sets discuss the significance of the recognition for women in the music industry. “We’re not strangers to facing gender adversity as a business in the music industry, due to its male-dominated nature, so to be recognised and celebrated as women-led is extra impactful.

“We get a lot of energy and fuel from the support of wāhine collectives, and it is wonderful to see a campaign uplifting the community. Advocating for safer club practices via quality hearing protection was born through the experience of being a minority in the industry/club. This plays a huge part in our vision for a safer, more inclusive nightlife ecosystem.”

The showcase will include over 30 women-led businesses, highlighting the diverse sectors women are impacting, from financial services to retail, showcasing their invaluable contributions.
