YouTube announced as new naming sponsor for NZ Marketing Awards

AUCKLAND, Today: Heads up, marketers! The 2024 NZ Marketing Awards are open for entries. This is your chance to shine and show off those stellar marketing moves that have set Aotearoa alight.

This year, we’re excited to announce YouTube as the new name behind the awards. Yep, that’s right, the platform we all know and love is spotlighting New Zealand’s finest marketing achievements. So, if you’ve got a success story, now’s the time to share it!

Caroline Rainsford from Google NZ shared her excitement: “At YouTube we’re proud to play our small part in recognising the incredible, innovative and inspiring work that has come out of our local marketing industry.

“In our rapidly changing media environment, YouTube is home to video for so many Kiwis – for audiences, Creators and Brands alike – and we’re constantly in awe of the ground-breaking creativity that we see Kiwi Marketers bringing to YouTube. I can’t wait to see this year’s Award entries.”

What’s New This Year?
Mark your calendars! For the first time ever, an international powerhouse, Mark Ritson, will judge our new ‘Brand of the Year’ category. It’s a big deal, and we can’t wait to see who stands out. “I’m honoured to be involved and helping judge which New Zealand brand is the best of the best for the YouTube NZ Marketing Awards for 2024!” Ritson exclaimed.

Awards are up for grabs across three main areas: Marketing Excellence, Marketing Campaign, and Individual Awards. This year, we’re also introducing some fresh categories, reflecting the latest in marketing innovation.

New Awards Alert!
We’re diving deep with the ‘Best Use of Content Marketing Campaign’ and ‘Best Use of Video Marketing Campaign’ awards. It’s all about celebrating the magic you create that resonates with audiences and delivers real results.

“The world of marketing is constantly evolving and we must too. Having new categories around content and video reflects these changes and highlights the range of skills marketers need to have in 2024,” says Marcus Hawkins from SCG Media.

Judging and Celebrations
The awards follow a meticulous judging process, spearheaded by the NZ Marketing Association and Michael Friedberg. We’re all set to showcase the best of marketing at an exciting event on 4 September at Spark Arena.

John Miles from the NZ Marketing Association is thrilled about the partnership with YouTube: “We all know marketing is the best job in the world, and the marketing awards celebrate the best of the best. I’m really thrilled with our new partner YouTube, who are one of the world’s preeminent brands.

“Our aim is to deliver the ‘Oscars of marketing’, and with YouTube, we will take the awards to new heights. I am particularly pleased with the new categories and having our good friend Mark Ritson judging the brand of the year will give this category huge prestige.”

Ready for another epic night of celebrating marketing greatness? The 2024 awards promise to be as unforgettable as last year’s, thanks to our main sponsor, YouTube, and others like Are Media and Cartology.
