New technical director for TBWA\Group NZ

TBWA\Group New Zealand has announced the appointment of Simon McCorkindale as technical director for Digital Arts Network (DAN) and TBWA\Group.

McCorkindale brings experience in game design and software engineering to DAN and the wider TBWA\Group NZ.

The technical and gaming requirements of the group are growing at pace, locally and internationally with a wide range of local partners like The Fono, Southern Cross, Landpower, Fletcher Living and global partners like Discover Card, Booking.Com for Business and AWS.

McCorkindale’s career has spanned roles in Japan, Singapore, Thailand, China, Hong Kong and Korea. His upbringing in New Zealand, coupled with his global experience has given him a unique perspective, exceptional gaming credentials and rich technical capability.

As technical director, McCorkindale will work across the group, delivering technical resources while expanding the DAN development team.

Catherine Harris, CEO of TBWA\Group NZ says; “Dave [DAN Managing Director, David Parkinson] has done an incredible job building DAN up over the past couple of years and Simon’s appointment reflects this success and our growing ambition for DAN and the group.

“Simon comes on board at a time when the group is growing fast and delivering larger, more complex digital experiences. Dave and Simon will continue to build out their delivery team locally and abroad, while Simon’s gaming background is opening up incredible new creative opportunities for our partners”.

Parkinson is excited to have McCorkindale  on board; “He’s an exceptional talent who brings a depth of experience into the organisation that’s priceless.”

Following global trends, Parkinson sees businesses in Aotearoa rapidly looking for new ways to differentiate how they engage with their customers.

“With more demand than ever to create unique customer experiences, Simon’s pedigree building software, and passion for technology means we are rapidly expanding how we can help our client partners grow.”

“This is an exciting new chapter for me,” says McCorkindale.

“DAN and TBWA are already working with incredible companies and teams all over the world, providing digital solutions that meet complex client needs. I’m looking forward to further driving innovation for the Group to deliver exceptional results for both our clients and our teams.”
