oOh!media backs YouthLine ‘Walk the Talk’ fundraiser

Out of home media company oOh!media has thrown its support behind the latest Youthline campaign supporting mental health in young Kiwis.

For the month of May, Youthline is encouraging New Zealanders to “Walk the Talk” for 31 minutes every day, fundraising support for young people struggling with their mental health along the way.

This timeslot was chosen because 31 minutes is the average time Youthline’s 24/7 Helpline counsellors spend with each young person in crisis.

A longstanding partner and supporter of Youthline, oOh!media is rallying the oOh! team for Walk the Talk and amplifying awareness of the campaign as the official media partner.

oOh! is going the extra mile with this exercise-fuelled fundraiser by teaming up with fitness brands F45, Studio Box, Sala, and East West.

Shae Ronald, CEO from Youthline says, “I am extremely grateful for oOh!media’s support in the ‘Walk the Talk’ fundraiser.

“We’re thrilled to have them on board, continuing their longstanding commitment to our cause – raising awareness and funds for youth mental health in Aotearoa.

“At the heart of Walk the Talk is critical funding to keep the 24/7 helpline going. Every donation makes a significant impact on the mental health of our youth, their whānau, and friends.

“Our goal is to be a beacon of hope for young people struggling with mental health distress. We are thrilled to reintroduce Walk the Talk in 2024, aiming to raise vital funds for our helpline and make a meaningful difference in the lives of rangatahi facing mental health challenges.”

oOh! has arranged a series of afternoon classes during the work day in May for its team and clients to get active.

Rather than paying for the classes, oOh! asked participants to donate to the oOh! Walk the Talk donation page.

Nick Vile, General Manager of oOh!media New Zealand, says, “I’m always proud to see the team get behind our long-standing New Zealand community partners in new and innovative ways.

“It’s truly exciting to continue our support as the official media partner for this remarkable initiative, while teaming up with leading fitness brands to have fun and contribute to a good cause.”
