NZME dominates NZ Radio & Podcast Awards with seven major wins

AUCKLAND, Today: NZME is thrilled with a major win at the New Zealand Radio and Podcast Awards, grabbing seven out of ten premier awards and various accolades across multiple categories.

Newstalk ZB, the leading news commercial radio station, earned multiple honours, including Station of the Year – Network. Mike Hosking retained his title as Best Talk Presenter for Breakfast or Drive, with his show also winning Best Show Producer or Producing Team – Talk Show. Marcus Lush was named joint Best Talk Presenter – Non-Breakfast or Drive for the eighth year.

Music station ZM excelled, with Fletch, Vaughan & Hayley winning Best Music Network Breakfast Show and ‘Girl Math’ taking the Blackie Award. ZM Content Director Ross Flahive was named Best Content Director/Content Team, and Coast’s Lorna Riley won joint Best Music Network Host.

Mike Regal, Radio Wanaka host and General Station Manager, was honoured with the Outstanding Contribution to Radio award. Jenny Mulligan and Tim Dower were recognised for Services to Broadcasting.

NZME’s podcast network also excelled. Tom Sainsbury’s Small Town Scandal won Podcast of the Year, and Radio Hauraki’s The Matt & Jerry Show took Best Podcast by a Radio Show. NZ Herald Podcast Network’s Ethan Sills was awarded Best Podcast Producer or Producing Team. NZME’s Christchurch sales team was named Sales Team of the Year.
