VMO expands retail media reach with New Zealand launch

AUCKLAND, TODAY: VMO has launched its retail media network, VMO Shop, across New Zealand. They’ve secured prime spots in Auckland, Christchurch, Wellington, and regional centres like Invercargill, Queenstown, Hawkes Bay, and Taupō.

The plan includes over 50 shopping centres nationwide, featuring formats designed for maximum visibility. Installation is already underway, with more than 100 digital supermarket and large-format screens being rolled out.

Ormiston Town Centre now hosts a striking large-format screen, covering the main thoroughfare. This installation is just the beginning, with more screens planned across various locations.

This new network gives advertisers the chance to connect with a wide range of shoppers and reach audiences in areas previously untouched by out-of-home advertising.

VMO, a leader in retail media, operates one of the largest and most successful networks in Australia. Launching VMO Shop in New Zealand marks a natural expansion, given their existing presence.

Anthony Deeble, Chief Commercial Officer of HOYTS Group and VMO, called this move strategic, leveraging their expertise in the field and their strong retail network in Australia.

Key locations within the network include Ormiston Town Centre, Invercargill Central—recently named NZ Retail Development of the Year—Coast Plaza, and Eastgate Mall Christchurch.
