2degrees sponsorship of Auckland FC women’s team a ‘no brainer’

2degrees has officially signed on as the foundation sponsor of Auckland FC’s women’s team.

The Auckland FC women’s team’s will debut in the A-League Women’s in 2027.

“Although the women’s team won’t take the field until the 2027 season, it was a no-brainer for us to get on board now,” says 2degrees senior sponsorship & community manager Anna Gorman.

“Backing Auckland FC’s women’s team is a natural extension of our commitment to advancing equity in women’s sport in Aotearoa, and we’re excited to be part of the journey from the very beginning.”

Lifting the profile of women’s sport

The sponsorship strengthens 2degrees’ SupportHER initiative, which unites all of the company’s women-in-sport programmes under one banner. SupportHER provides practical resources for parents, coaches, and supporters, while championing wāhine at every level of sport.

“We believe that making this commitment now is essential to helping women’s sport build on its momentum and thrive in the years ahead,” adds Gorman. “Through AFC and SupportHER, we’re proud to help lift the profile of women’s sport in this country.”

Challenger spirit

2degrees has also confirmed it will continue as Auckland FC’s official telecommunications partner for the upcoming 2025/26 A-League Men’s season which kicks off on October 17.
