Mechatronics company Stihl NZ has partnered with True to launch a campaign for its entry-level battery pruner.
Titled ‘Charged for life’, the campaign shows a Kiwi gardener struggling with his pruning addiction. He’s discovered what many Kiwi gardeners already know: once you experience the power of a Stihl battery pruner, it’s hard to stop.
The strategy positions the Stihl GTA Pruner series as a Trojan Horse to get people hooked on gardening – and, ultimately, the wider Stisl range, says Stisl NZ.
The ultimate gateway tool
Stace Hall, Stihl head of marketing NZ & head of brand marketing Oceania, says: “When someone gets started with a Stihl battery pruner, they’re more likely to come back and buy another Stihl. They’re the ultimate gateway tool, and they’ll be with you week after week, season after season. This campaign is all about how you just can’t put them down.”

The campaign’s video assets were directed by comedy director James Anderson and will roll out across BVOD, social and outdoor.
