New hires grace the halls of Federation and NZME’s South Island team.
Going South
NZME has announced today the new appointment of senior journalist Hamish Clark.
Clark comes from a background in multimedia journalism and will be heading the south island news team.
“Hamish is an incredibly experienced and highly regarded journalist who has spent many years covering local, national and international news events from his home base in Christchurch. He was recognised for his outstanding work during the Christchurch Earthquakes in 2011 when he was named Journalist of the Year at the Aotearoa Film and Television Awards,” said NZME managing editor Shayne Currie.
Clark says he’s looking forward to leading NZME’s multi-platform focused reporting team and being part of an organisation that’s expanding its investment in quality journalism.
“It’s exciting to be joining a news team backed by a business prepared to make the commitment to not just to support journalism but to ensure it has a thriving future.
“Newstalk ZB and the NZ Herald already have a strong and respected presence in the South Island. The addition of more quality journalists can only further reassure our South Island communities that we are here to share their stories,” said Clark.
Federation Flourish
Federation has welcomed in three new arrivals, bolstering the Auckland based team.
The agency has nabbed a Kiwi back from overseas with the appointment of Julia Davies who joins from her previous role at LadBible.
“Julia’s varied and unique experience brings a genuine X Factor to the table, her time in-house at LADbible especially. Their mission of giving youth ‘a voice by building communities that laugh, think and act’ speaks to a true connection with their audience; true connection has arguably never been more essential to all brands than it is right now in 2020’’, says Managing Partner Olly Boden.
The agency also welcomes Phoebe Brown who joins the agency in a newly created role within the design team from UK specialist CRM agency, Flourish World.
A third new arrival, Account Manager Maddie Johnson, joins FEDERATION in another newly created role supporting Julia Davies and Managing Partner Elizabeth Beatty across several key accounts.
Boden adds, “We’re delighted to welcome Julia, Phoebe and Maddie to the agency. Between them, there’s bags of energy and know-how to further strengthen our growing team”.
