Auckland-based media independent Sneakers Media has announced its expansion into the Wellington market, led by respected media specialist Julie-Ann Hedges.
The bold move follows the agency’s expansion from a digital media only offering to a well-rounded media service.
Hedges has held senior marketing and media roles across TVNZ, Total Media, Carat and MediaCom.
Managing Partner Elaine Gibbons says it’s a privilege to have someone of Hedges’ calibre on board.
“We are thrilled that Julie-Ann will be joining the Sneakers family. She is a highly connected superstar with a wealth of experience and a stellar reputation – she’s the perfect person to run our Wellington office.
“The industry often gets wrapped up in an Auckland bubble, ignoring the needs of businesses and marketers outside of Auckland, so with the exit of a couple of the big media agencies from the Wellington market, this was the obvious next step for us.”
Hedges says she’s excited to be representing the brand in Wellington.
“The Sneakers team and I speak the same language. They are genuinely good people whose ethics align with mine perfectly. Their commitment to delivering real business results without agency politics, and their complete transparency with clients is hugely refreshing which resonates so well with me.
“I feel honoured to launch the Sneakers Wellington office, ensuring I can continue my passion for media in my beloved home city. Let’s face it, I’ve been around for quite a while in a very competitive and dynamic industry, so this is exactly the right move for me.”
Since the agency’s expansion two years ago, it has been quietly growing with the Auckland team moving into their new Grey Lynn premises and adding over 10 new clients to a diverse portfolio.
Hedges will lead the Wellington operation effective immediately.
