The 2021 PREScom Awards go virtual

AUCKLAND, Monday: Due to the uncertainty around alert levels, the Commercial Communications Council is today announcing this year’s PREScom Awards – The Pressies – will be a virtual event, the first time in its four-year history.

The awards will be hosted via the Comms Council social channels on Wednesday 24 November 24 at 7pm, hosted by ZM’s Cam Mansell.

PREScom committee chair Sean Brown said: “After another turbulent year for PR professionals, we know everyone was looking forward to getting together in person.

“Despite now having to pop your own bubbles at home, we’re hoping for a great turnout to celebrate the best PR, experiential, and social work of the year.”

“Entries to the Pressie Awards have now closed and the 40 judges have commenced weighing the entries, deliberating via Zoom to see what campaigns will take home metal.

“The Pressies wouldn’t be possible without the support of fantastic sponsors – Facebook and NZME.”

“The annual Pressie Awards are to recognise the best PR, experiential, and social media campaigns in New Zealand.

“But what they’re really about is celebrating our hard work and the impact it has on brands, businesses, and the community.

“Now more than ever, it’s important for brands to connect with people in a meaningful way and for us to connect together – both in real life and virtually.

“The Pressies wouldn’t be possible without the support of fantastic sponsors – the PREScom committee thanks Facebook and NZME for their ongoing support for The Pressies and throughout the year.

The awards will be hosted via the Comms Council Instagram page and a full video will be posted to the Comms Council Facebook page and website the following day.
