AUT students get creative with invites to End of Year Showcase

Over the past week AUT has been ‘invitising’ the industry to the 2023 End of Year Showcase with invites disguised as recent campaigns from local agencies.

The invites included billboards, radio spots, videos, and posters for Lotto, Briscoes, Skinny, Fire and Emergency NZ, Griffin’s, Hell Pizza, 2degrees, Chorus, Blind Low Vision NZ, Kathmandu, TAB, ASB, Powershop, Genesis, and Movember.

“So far we’ve had a great response to the invites,” say Lecturer Dan Fastnedge. “Apart from some designers who spotted that we weren’t quite on brand, and a marketer who was concerned that customers might be confused by the billboards.”

The 2023 showcase is running today (Tues 14th Nov) in the Sapphire Room, Ponsonby Central. This year sees an additional lunchtime session as well as the traditional evening showcase and is sponsored by the Commercial Communications Council, and media donated by Go Media.
