Stuff Events scores big at top industry awards

AUCKLAND, Today: Stuff Group celebrated a big win at the NZEA New Zealand Event Awards, taking home two awards: Best Business Event and Best Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Initiative.

Central Districts Field Days, the largest regional farming event in the country owned by Stuff, earned the Best Business prize. Meanwhile, Te Matarau, an innovative News Media Wānanga initiated by Stuff, secured the DEI award.

Te Matarau, led by Stuff’s former Pou Tiaki Matua Carmen Parahi, brought together over 80 senior leaders from community groups, major media organisations, and government to discuss improving representation of Māori and underserved communities in Aotearoa’s media.

Central Districts Field Days attracted over 30,000 visitors to Feilding in March, significantly boosting the local economy.

“I’m really proud of our team that delivers amazing events year-round, supporting and engaging communities and businesses across the country by creating unmissable experiences,” says Stuff Events Director Henry McLernon.

“Field Days this year hosted over 500 exhibitors, generating tens of millions of dollars in sales. It is great to see this impact recognised by our peers at the event industry’s leading awards night. We have some other exciting announcements to make soon too – we can’t wait to share them!”

Alongside Central Districts Field Days, Stuff Group also runs iconic events like the Round the Bays fun run and NZ House & Garden Tours, with tickets going on sale soon.

Stuff Brand Connections Managing Director Matt Headland highlighted Stuff’s events business as a powerful partner for brands.

“You’d be hard-pressed to find a partner who can deliver large-scale and targeted experiences and activations across as many touchpoints as Stuff can.”

He added that Chemist Warehouse is a great example of how Stuff Events boosts brand impact. Stuff manages trade events and company activations for Chemist Warehouse, alongside producing The House of Wellness magazine and running a lifestyle hub on stuff.co.nz.
