AUCKLAND, Yesterday: Film Construction is excited to welcome Dahnu Graham to its director roster. Known for his charisma as a performer, Dahnu recently shifted his creative focus toward film directing, making waves in the industry.
Earlier this year, Dahnu completed his first short film, Te Ahi, which is already set for international festival screenings. Now, he’s bringing his unique storytelling to the world of advertising.
His debut commercial work with Ogilvy NZ, a series of one-shot films for Auckland University’s If Not You, Then Who campaign, showcases his talent for creating captivating, honest performances.

Dahnu has long been respected within New Zealand’s acting community, and his transition to directing has been just as impressive. His short film Te Ahi (The Fire) explores character-driven storytelling with emotional depth.
His role in directing Troy Kingi’s visual album Black Sea Golden Ladder added to his growing reputation as a filmmaker. This project highlighted his ability to craft unique and resonant visuals.
As a member of Ngāpuhi and Te Aupōuri iwi, Dahnu’s cultural heritage adds another layer to his storytelling, bringing depth and truth to each project he works on.
Dahnu Graham is a director to watch. His unique voice and undeniable talent for storytelling are setting him up to make a big impact in the film world.
