Acast launches Ads Academy with free podcast ad courses

Independent podcast company Acast has launched Acast Ads Academy.

The new platform offers two free, on-demand courses that help marketers confidently plan and execute advertising campaigns.

Those who pass the final exam of either course receive a certification that validates their expertise in podcast advertising.

A strategic resource

The Academy was created to meet growing demand and draws on over a decade of Acast’s experience and campaign data.

Expected to train thousands globally in its first year, it aims to boost podcast advertising growth and adoption across industries.

The courses feature short, self-paced modules that fit busy schedules and provide practical insights for marketers to apply immediately:

  • Podcast Advertising 101 – For marketers new to podcast advertising, covering how podcast advertising works, campaign planning, measurement and what drives standout creative.
  • Podcast Advertising 201 – For experienced advertisers, featuring advanced targeting strategies, programmatic buying and omnichannel campaign optimisation.

Beyond education, Acast Ads Academy is a strategic resource that aims to:

  • Simplify podcast advertising, showing how accessible and effective it can be.
  • Save time and resources by delivering expert knowledge from the world’s leading podcast company.

Bridge the gap

Henrik Isaksson, Acast ANZ’s regional managing director, says: “One of the most common questions we hear from marketers is how to confidently navigate podcast advertising – especially alongside channels like video and socials.

“IAB New Zealand’s 2024 Evolution of Audio Survey 2024 found that 44% of marketers cite lack of understanding as the biggest barrier to growing audio advertising’s share of media budgets.

“Acast Ads Academy is designed to bridge this gap, equipping Australian advertisers with the practical skills and confidence they need to unlock the full value of podcast advertising – regardless of their level of experience,” Isaksson adds.

Acast Ads Academy is now live and open to advertisers globally.
