Crave & 42Below salute World Cocktail & Brand Managers Day

AUCKLAND, Monday: Experiential indie shop Crave Global’s exclusive members bar Thursday, in collaboration with 42Below, is hosting a joint celebration on Thursday week (13 May) “to honour World Cocktail and Brand Manager Day.”

Crave MD Daniel Hopkirk (an ex-brand manager himself) said: “The two days are a fitting pair and to mark the occasion, Thursday is celebrating the craft of the cocktail and the people that love drinking them.

“It will be a night where brand managers can park their brief-writing skills and turn their hand to cocktail tasting for the evening.

“All attendees will receive a complimentary 42Below cocktail on arrival, along with surprise-and-delight entertainment, making it a Thursday night to remember for Auckland’s brand manager community.

“Working with the good people at 42Below, we wanted to create an opportunity for brand managers to let their hair down and enjoy themselves, something I enjoyed doing in my brand manager days.

“At Crave Global, we work with a lot of brand managers, so we understand what makes them tick!

“We set up Thursday as a way for industry professionals to meet in a creative space without the usual trappings of a bar. It’s a playful haven for inventive individuals to enjoy, and the events on May 13 will bring this concept to life.

“Brand Managers Day honours the introduction of the brand manager role on 13 May 1931. It was initiated by Neil McElroy, a Harvard graduate who started at P&G in 1925.

“McElroy became frustrated with having to compete with P&Gs other brands and created a now-famous memo, which laid out the principles of modern brand management, which still exists to this day.”

Spaces for this one-off event are limited. To secure a spot, email bookings@thursdaybar.co.nz, along with the number of people you would like to bring along.

Thursday is at 224 Symonds Street, Newton.
