AUCKLAND, Today: In the run-up to Phantom Billstickers National Poetry Day (Friday 26 August), Phantom took a wider look at the way poetry lives on posters.
Phantom founder Jim Wilson said: “The fact is, we’ve been placing poems in public places for over two decades – and not just in New Zealand.”

“Jim Wilson has never hidden his belief that poetry should be public. He personally pasted many of the poems listed here during his travels in Aotearoa and abroad.”
“In nearby Philadelphia, we caught Tusiata Avia in the act of posting one of her poems. That took place when we brought four New Zealand poets (and their poem posters) to the USA.
“There are many, many more. Too many to include in one edition of Phan Mail.
Jim Wilson has never hidden his belief that poetry should be public. He personally pasted many of the poems listed above during his travels in Aotearoa and abroad.
It’s one of the reasons Phantom Billstickers is the chief sponsor of National Poetry Day.
