AUCKLAND, Today: When The Cat’s Away’s chart-topping chanteuse Margaret Urlich, who died this week aged 57, enjoyed a fruitful relationship with ad agencies and tvc producers throughout her career.
Among her best tv work was L&P Heatwave, a classic soft-drink ad she delivered for McKay King Advertising in 1996.
“Heatwave was based on a ’60s Motown song by Martha & the Vandellas (the NZ tvc version was produced by Murray Grindlay in 2015).”
Heatwave featured Annie Crummer, Ardijah’s Ryan & Betty-Anne Monga, Erana Clark, Peter Morgan, Fane Flaws and DD Smash drummer Peter Warren.
It was based on a ’60s Motown song by Martha & the Vandellas (the NZ tvc version was produced by Murray Grindlay).
